There are two books by Ralph Fletcher that I truly live by in teaching writing for my fifth grade class. There are lessons for grades K-8 in both fiction and nonfiction writing. In these books they are sectioned by grade level first and then by topic. On each page there is a discussion section, then a how to teach it section, and last there is a resource material section that gives you choices and exerts from books that will help you teach that particular concept. Even though there are topics in the K-2 section I can still use them, they are simply modified to fit any grade level.
